Summer Dresses Under $100
Image via The Wild Authentic
Today I’m sharing summer dresses under $100. As the summer wears on and the temperature gets hotter, I cannot stand to put anything on my body other than dresses! I love that I can just throw on a breezy dress and look pulled together while staying cool. With 4th of July right around the corner, retailers will start getting some fall items in stock. That means I don’t want to spend much more on summer clothing this year. To get us through the rest of summer, I’ve rounded up summer dresses under $100!

Where I Shop For My Girls
Kids are so fun to shop for! They grow so fast I feel like I’m constantly buying them new things. Luckily, Ella can wear whatever Margot outgrows. I get asked a lot where I shop for my girls. I always have to balance between spending a little more on truly adorable things and sticking to more inexpensive items that they won’t fit into after a few years. Margot is almost five and definitely has an opinion on what she wears! I always try to buy things for future seasons on sale. Here is where I shop for my girls:
For Margot:
Margot pretty much only wants to wear dresses and nightgowns lately. I did find some shorts sets for her, though. She also mostly wants to wear one piece swimsuits, but with little kids trying to make it to the potty on time it’s nice to have some two piece options. I also love these two strap sandals that she can get off and on herself and are ok to get wet.
For Ella:
Since Ella is a new walker I find rompers easiest for her. If dresses are too long they can trip her up or make it hard when she wants to crawl. She still wears a sleep sack for bed so I usually put her in lightweight, long sleeve pajamas. Ella doesn’t need a ton of new things so I like to stick to cheaper options like H&M, but sometimes we pick up something special from Janie and Jack or Boden.

How Often You Should Wash Your Face
In the past we’ve covered using a low pH cleanser and double cleansing. Today we’re going to talk about how often you should wash your face.
Even on days when you don’t wear makeup, washing your face is important for removing sunscreen, dirt, and oil. If you skip it you may see a rise breakouts and oil.
On the other hand, over washing is also detrimental. You need to wash your face every evening to remove makeup, sunscreen, dirt and oil. But whether to wash your face again in the morning depends on your skin type.
For most skin types, as long as you are doing your evening skincare routine, there is no need to wash again in the morning. In fact, you could be stripping your skin. Which leads to an over production of oil. It’s also important to make sure you are sleeping on a clean pillow case if you decide to forego a morning wash.
If your skin feels dry and tight over washing may be part of the problem. It’s also important to stick to a low pH cleanser. Foamy cleansers with a high pH can dry out your skin and make and produce even more oil. Surprisingly, oily skin can be dry and dehydrated!
If you think you might be over washing, give your skin a break. Try only rinsing your face with water in the morning. And in the evening use an oil cleanser followed by a low pH facial cleanser.
How many times a day are you washing your face? Let me know if you’re going to forego your morning cleanse in the comments!

White Dresses for Summer
I love a crisp, white dress for summer. White cotton and linen not only look cool, they actually do a great job of keeping you cool all summer long. We’ve had a beautiful spring and as we get closer to summer, temperatures are on the rise. Add in the fact that vaccines continue to roll out and the pandemic is coming to an end, and I am ready to shop! I can’t wait to sit on a patio in the sun with some girlfriends and a cold glass of white wine. While wearing a fabulous frock, of course. For the last few weeks I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect white summer dress. Preferably linen or cotton, an easy “throw-on-and-go” silhouette, and MUST have pockets. Bonus points if it can be dressed up or down, or double as a swim coverup. I also want it to have some type of interesting detail, such as a ruffle, tie strap, or corseting. I think I’ve finally found it! Below I’ve rounded up my favorite white dresses for summer. Which style do you think I picked?!
1. Linen bustier dress 2. Short sleeve open back dress 3. Trapeze dress 4. Smocked dress 5. Button front dress 6. Apron dress 7. Linen maxi 8. Gauze midi dress

Celebrating Earth Month With Lexus
Something you might now know about me – I drive a Toyota Prius! When I started working at my last job – facing a 40 minute commute – I knew it was time for a new car. Sustainability, safety, and amazing gas mileage were at the top of the list, so choosing a Prius was a no brainer. When Toyota reached out to me to partner with them in celebration of Earth month I jumped at the chance! I had the opportunity to drive the Lexus NX 300 hybrid. Keep reading for all of the fun activities we did while celebrating Earth Month with Lexus!
Our Week Celebrating Earth Month With Lexus
The car was delivered on Monday. On Tuesday the girls and I loaded up the Lexus and headed to Estabrook park for a picnic. It was so nice to get out and enjoy the spring sunshine! We love Estabrook park for all of it’s grassy areas, playgrounds, dog park, and beer garden.
On Wednesday we picked up coffee and baked goods at Colectivo Coffee. Colectivo has been our local go-to for years. Colectivo coffee is brewed locally. Troubador Bakery in Bay View makes the baked goods daily using sustainable ingredients.
On Thursday we joined a Stroller Fitness class with Little Sprouts Play Cafe. We met up with a group of ladies and kids and headed back over to Estabrook Park for the workout. Afterwards, all of the kids got to play at Little Sprouts while the moms drank coffee and chatted. Little Sprouts does a great job of having lots of open ended wooden toys mixed with traditional toys to play with. The girls had a great time and it was worth the tantrum when we left!
The girls and I headed over to the Lakefront for a walk on Friday. Milwaukee has so many gorgeous lakefront parks with trails and beaches to explore. On this day we started at Lake Park, but we also love Seven Bridges, Atwater, and Back Bay parks. I’ve also always wanted to check out Lion’s Den Gorge.
On Saturday we went out to dinner as a family at Bavette La Boucherie. Bavette is a local farm to table restaurant and butcher in one. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine as well as our delicious food. We enjoyed cornbread with honey butter, pimento cheese on toast, a Cuban sandwich, pork mole tacos, and a glass of rose.
The Features I Loved
Driving the Lexus NX 300 hybrid all week was a lot of fun! I loved the sunroof, heated and cooled seats, back up camera, and automatic trunk. I got about 35 MPG and loved seeing the usage between gas and battery in the large screen. The car also has lost of safety features, like alerting you when you get too close to something. The mix of luxury vehicle and sustainability are unmatched. I’m definitely keeping the Lexus NX 300 hybrid on my list when I’m looking for a new car. We had so much fun all week celebrating Earth Month with Lexus!
Thank you to Toyota for sponsoring this post!

Favorite Splurges
The bows on this sweater are SO GOOD! I’ve had my eye on this pretty swimsuit for summer. The perfect pretty white top for spring. I’ve heard such good things about these jeans! I’m loving natural pearl earrings lately. Loeffler Randall makes the prettiest shoes – these heels go with everything and these flats are so fun for spring and summer! The peplum is back and this tank style is so pretty! I wore this navy top a few weeks ago for a date night.
Favorite Under $200
Next up are my favorite styles under $200. This little gingham dress is perfect for spring and summer. I love the rainbow colors of this tweed mini. I got these shorts last year and they are so flattering. Everyone needs a straw fedora for summer. These are my most worn sunglasses. Everyone also needs a pari of espadrille wedges – they go with everything! I love the sage color of this top. This top makes such a statement with jeans and heels for a date night. These are the perfect ripped jeans for spring.
Favorite Dresses
Lastly, I’ve rounded up my favorite dresses for spring and summer. The embroidery on this maxi dress is stunning. This dress can be worn straight from the pool to dinner! This dress would be super cute for a bridal shower. I love the blue color of this dress – and it looks way more expensive than it actually is. I love an edgy black dress with girly bows. The jacquard fabric of this maxi wrap dress is gorgeous. I’m obsessed with the removable collar on this linen dress. This dress is perfect for your next beach vacation. The tucks and ruffles on this dress make it anything but basic white. And the botanical print on this dress is perfection.

Sephora Sale Picks 2021
The Sephora spring sale starts on Friday! Sephora pretty much has a big sale twice a year. It’s a great time to stock up on favorites and try some new products you’ve had your eye on. Today I’m rounding up my Sephora sale picks for spring 2021!
Skincare Picks
Let’s start with my favorite category – skincare. I didn’t link everything I use and love because there are better deals on some of those products out there right now. I usually stock up on my holy grail daytime eye cream during this sale. It’s a great time to buy a GloPro at a discount – I use mine every night. I’ve included a few more BeautyBio products I use and love – like the Vitamin C day cream and the R45 retinol boost. I did the boost at the beginning of the year and saw great results – definitely repurchasing! Finally, I will be stocking up on some of my favorite masks. The Clarins depuffing mask always sells out so make sure to snatch it up! I love doing the Drunk Elephant Babyfacial weekly for smooth skin. The Origins charcoal mask is great for pore clearing. And, the Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping mask insures I wake up with glowing, hydrated skin.
Makeup Picks
This is definitely the time to buy any luxury makeup you’ve been wanting to try. I’m so sad that Becca Cosmetics is going away. I’ll definitely be grabbing an extra under eye brightener and backlighting primer. The other primer I love if you want something matte is this one from Tatcha. My favorite brightening under eye concealer is a must. I’ve been wearing the Armani Luminous Silk foundation for years! For something more matte and full coverage I love the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Airbrush foundation. The Charlotte Tilbury powder applied with this brush gives you a poreless, airbrushed finish. For a natural glowy finish I love the Hourglass Ambient Light palette applied with this brush. Benefit Hula bronzer looks amazing on everyone, as well as the Dior Rosy Glow blush. I top it all off with Benefit Dandelion for a little highlight. For eyes I’ve been using this Tarte palette for years – it has the best neutral shadows! I prefer a soft eyeliner look and swear by this Bobbi Brown gel applied with this brush. I like to brush up my brows with this Hourglass brow gel to hold them in place. Finally, I top my lips with my favorite lip liner and lipstick duo.
Haircare Picks
I only use a few things from Sephora on my hair. I started using the GloPro scalp attachment and serum this year and my hairline is filling in like crazy! Even my stylist said my hair was feeling healthier. I’m also dying to get the Dyson Airwrap. A splurge for sure but I’ve heard it’s amazing and worth the price.
So there you have it! Will you be shopping the sale? What are your favorite Sephora sale picks for spring 2021?

Winter Date Night Outfit
It’s the end of winter and it finally seems like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel regarding the pandemic. I don’t know about you but I am craving a night out, either with Matt or with friends. Socializing outside is still the safest way to get together outside of our homes. But, it takes a little extra effort to dress for the chilly weather. The good news is, there are plenty of ways to bundle up and be warm while still having some style. Today I’m showing you how I put together a winter date night outfit.
Don’t put your sweater dresses away yet! This fine gauge knit dress is thin enough to wear for a little longer, but it’s still soft and cozy.
Layer different textures! For this look I layered fine gauge knit with tweed and suede.
Over the knee boots take your look from school girl to cool girl – perfect for a chilly evening and keeping bare legs warm.
Add a classic coat for a timeless look!
I hope this helps you put together a winter date night outfit. Let me know in the comments!
